An oil and gas field in Canada is using screw pumps to transport polymer mixtures downhole, and high-pressure pumps to ensure that crude oil flows correctly to the surface. The screw pump has continuous maintenance problems and is expensive to maintain, so it was replaced with Hydra-Cell D66/G66.
Since it was installed a year ago, Hydra-Cell D66/G66 has been running well, eliminating maintenance problems and reducing maintenance costs.
It uses variable speed drives, allowing one Hydra-Cell pump to deliver polymer to multiple high-pressure pumps, including Hydra-Cell D15/G15 and D35/G35 models. Hydra-Cell's rugged structure, non-sealed design, and ability to provide low shear pumping at different viscosities have proven to be the best choice for this variable flow low pressure application.
Flow rate: 8.5 to 26 gpm (32 to 98 liters per minute)
Pressure: 100 to 180 psi (6.9 to 12.4 bar)
Application: pump polymer from mixing station to injection well to pressurize oil layer
